Lara Comenencia

was born in Amsterdam in 1997, where she still lives and works. She is a Dutch artist who first began drawing during the COVID-lockdown. During this time she created fine line drawings of buildings and people's homes. More and more people became interested in her work, and demand for her drawings grew. What started as a way to express her interest in architecture gradually developed into painting.

As a self-taught painter she has developed her own artistic practice. Her work mainly focuses on architecture, specifically in Amsterdam, drawing inspiration from the city's distinctive buildings and streets. Her architectural background influences how she observes buildings, with a focus on their proportion, composition, materials and ornamental details. 

Through her paintings, she continues to explore the relationship between architecture and art.
