About me
I was born in Amsterdam in 1997, where I still live and work. My interest in building started at a young age. As a child, I loved playing with LEGO and could spend hours building and rebuilding things. And when I was a teenager, I would lose track of time creating my own virtual world in The Sims. Looking back now, I can see that my love for architecture was already there from the beginning.
I studied Communication at Hogeschool Inholland before going on to study Built Environment at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam. Since then, I have worked at three different architectural firms, where I have gained experience in the field and learned how buildings are designed and constructed.
Although I enjoy working in architecture, it can be quite technical; think detailed drawings, digital models and lots of regulations. Painting gives me a different way to explore architecture. I enjoy working with my hands and using paint to translate what I see into something of my own. This gives me a balance between the technical and creative side of me.
The birth of my business.
During the COVID lockdown, I started making line drawings of buildings and people's homes. As more people became interested in my drawings, it gradually grew into a business. Pretty soon I wanted to dive into the world of colour and light and shadow, so I taught myself how to paint.
My work focuses on architecture, primarily in Amsterdam. The city's characteristic canal houses, charming streets and rich history have always inspired me. With my work, I hope to encourage you to pause and look at your surroundings a little differently.
I am grateful to be able to share my work and continue pursuing something that brings me so much joy.
